The pet tag cut from plywood or acrylic instead of printed. A laser only engraves from above, so the tag is two plates of the same shape glued back to back: the back plate carries your phone number engraved, and you flip it when gluing so the engraving faces out. The front carries the pet's name.

Cutting and assembly
You get a ZIP with a DXF and an SVG. Engraving is orange, inner cuts are blue, outlines red and part names green, so LightBurn imports them as separate layers in the right order. Sizes are net - set the kerf in your laser software, not here. Engrave and cut, then glue the back plate engraving out. The shapes are symmetric, so the plates match after the flip. Small tags make small letters - below about 40 mm, engrave the name rather than cutting it.
