A small chest cut from one sheet: a box and a lid, both on finger joints, joined by a hinge made of the same plywood. On each side a round ear on the box holds a disc, the lid's back wall ends in pins that go through the discs, and the lid turns on them. No pins, no metal, nothing to buy.
The lid swings back past upright and rests there. Every corner is closed, so it looks clean from every side.

Cutting and assembly
You get a ZIP with a DXF and an SVG: inner cuts blue, outlines red, part names green. Sizes are net - set the kerf in your laser software; the hinge clearance is the only gap in the file. Put the discs in the rings, glue the box and the lid, sliding the lid's back wall pins into the discs as you go. Keep glue away from the discs and rings.
