Welcome to Moxie3D — parametric print files

We're live. Moxie3D is a tool for one specific problem: you need a 3D-printable part with exact dimensions, and you don't want to spend two hours in Fusion 360 to make it. Move three sliders, hit download, print.

What is Moxie3D?

Moxie3D is a browser-based generator for parametric 3D printing files. You choose a base shape — pencil holder, shelf organizer, keychain, box — set the dimensions, colors and cell counts, and the system builds a print-ready STL or 3MF file. No CAD software, no STL hunting on Printables, no scaling tricks in your slicer.

Everything runs in the browser. You see the model update live as you change parameters. When it looks right, you download the file. Total time from "I need this" to "loading into the slicer" is usually under a minute.

Why parametric beats pre-made STL files

Every drawer is different. Every shelf is different. Every IKEA bin you bought four years ago has slightly different dimensions than the one you bought yesterday. Pre-made STL files assume your problem looks like someone else's problem. Usually it doesn't.

1. Exact fit, no scaling

Scaling an STL to "make it fit" also scales wall thickness, screw holes, chamfers — everything. Parametric design changes only the dimension you wanted to change. Width goes from 80 mm to 85 mm? Walls stay 3 mm, corners stay rounded the way you set them.

2. Wall thickness matched to your nozzle

0.4 mm nozzle and 4 perimeters? Set walls to 1.6 mm. 0.6 mm nozzle? 2.4 mm. No more sliced models with weird half-perimeter walls and gaps where there shouldn't be any.

3. Iterate fast

Not sure if your tolerances are right? Generate a 30×30×20 mm test piece, print it, measure, adjust. Then generate the real thing. Total iteration time: minutes. Try doing that with a downloaded STL.

Each generator is its own small purpose-built tool. More will follow — these are the ones we're shipping at launch.

Multi-Purpose Holder

Open-top tray with configurable cell rows × cols. Originally designed as a pencil holder, but the same shape works for brush sets, screwdriver kits, makeup, kitchen utensils. Wall and bottom thickness configurable for nozzle/strength tradeoffs.

Shelf Organizer

Drawer or shelf compartmentalizer. Set outer width/depth/height (up to 300×300×200 mm), then divide into cells with an N×M grid. Add rounded outer corners and bottom chamfer for printability. Great for tool drawers, screw bins, craft supplies.

Custom Keychain

Text keychain with multi-color 3MF output. Type your text, pick a font, pick layer colors. The 3MF includes filament color mapping so Bambu Studio / OrcaSlicer auto-assign AMS slots — no slicer setup needed.

Premium Keychain Plate

Same engine as Custom Keychain, but pack up to 10 keychains onto a single build plate in one print. Each keychain has independent text, font, color set. Designed for bulk prints — birthday party giveaways, team merch, marketplace listings.

How it works

Three steps, no account required to preview:

1. Open a generator. The 3D preview loads with sensible defaults.
2. Adjust parameters. Sliders for dimensions, color pickers for materials, dropdowns for fonts. The preview updates in real time.
3. Export. Pick STL (single color, simplest) or 3MF (multi-color with filament mapping). Sign in to download.

You'll need an account at the download step — that's where the credit / free-quota system applies. Browsing and previewing is open to everyone.

Free tier — start without paying

Free generators have a daily download cap (currently 5 per day per user, with monthly cap also in place). That covers most hobby use. If you hit the limit, you can:

• Wait — the daily counter resets on a rolling 24h basis.
• Buy a bypass pack — single-use downloads from €0.50, with discounts on packs of 5 and 10. Works on any free generator.
• Earn bypass passes via referrals — invite a friend, earn affiliate points, redeem for downloads.

Premium generators (more complex geometry, longer compute) cost credits per download. Credit packs start at €9 for 30 credits with no expiration date.

Multi-color 3MF — Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer ready

When you export as .3mf, Moxie3D embeds the filament color mapping inside the file. Open it in Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer and each color is automatically assigned to an AMS slot. PrusaSlicer reads the same metadata for multi-material setups.

Single-color printer? STL export still works exactly as you'd expect — geometry only, you pick the color in the slicer.
