Multi-Purpose Holder

About this generator

Multi-Purpose Holder makes parametric open-top trays with a configurable cell grid. It started life as a pencil holder, but the same shape works for paint brushes, screwdriver kits, makeup organizers, kitchen utensil caddies — anywhere you need a compartmentalized container that fits a specific spot.

What you can change

• Outer dimensions — length, depth and height between 30 and 300 mm. Match the gap on your desk, the depth of your drawer, the height of the tallest pen in your set.
• Cell grid — rows × cols, up to 10×20. One cell for a single beaker, 4×8 cells for a screwdriver set.
• Hole diameter and spacing — tune the cell opening to the diameter of your objects. Tight grip for pencils, looser for fat markers.
• Wall and bottom thickness — defaults match 4 perimeters at 0.4 mm nozzle. Bump up for stiffness on tall holders.
• Chamfer — small bevel on top edges and hole rims, 0–1 mm. Cleaner first layer, no sharp corners to catch on.
• Color — single material. Output as STL (universal) or 3MF (Bambu Studio / OrcaSlicer-ready with filament metadata).

Typical print settings

Walls at 4 mm (default) print as 4 perimeters with a 0.4 mm nozzle. PLA, PETG and ASA all work. Layer height 0.2–0.28 mm. Print plate down — no supports needed.

Why not just download a pre-made STL?

Pre-made files assume your gap, your drawer, your pen set look like someone else's. They usually don't. Scaling an STL also changes wall thickness, hole sizes and chamfers — everything you didn't want to change. Parametric generation modifies only the dimension you set, leaving printability the same.
